2011 Philanthropist Breakfast was held at the Floyd Norgaard Hall on February 18. Local philanthropists were honored for their support of community causes, powerful impacts, and inspirational examples for us all.
The 2011 honorees were:
Tracy Ulrich for volunteering her time, financial support and her dedication and committment to serving others in the Community.
Ken Christoferson for his generous community donations via Stanwood Redi-Mix and his lengthy service on the School Board.
The Family of Charles and Donna Cole for their consistent, multi-generational support of many community organizations and projects.
Passionate, Powerful, Inspirational - also describe the philanthropic journey of keynote speaker Scott Oki, Founder and Chairman of Oki Golf and Oki Developments, Inc and former Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Service for Microsoft. Mr. Oki shared his passionate ideas for US Education outlined in his book, Outrageous Learning; the powerful Circles of Care he founded that have spread nationally providing $3.7 billion of support for Children's Hospitals; and his inspirational baby blanket company that donates all of its proceeds to support children's organizations.
