2017 Music Grants
The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation is accepting applications for music grants October 30, 2017 through November 17, 2017.
There are grants available this year for middle school and high school students. These grants are available to students (including home schooled students) with financial need who reside within the Stanwood-Camano School District and who have a demonstrated commitment to the field of music.
Middle School Grants
Jon L. Metzger Music Grant (1-3 grants @ $300 each) - Jon Metzger’s talent for music appeared at an early age when he taught himself to play guitar by ear. An avid musician for the rest of his life, Jon built guitars, ran a musical instrument repair shop, and co-founded a national Wind Chime Company. This grant is open to all middle school students and can be used for music lessons, equipment purchase or rental, or other related expenses to further the student’s musical aspirations.
High School Grants
Bruce Kollmar Band Grant (2 grants @ $300 each) - Bruce Kollmar was the much-loved director of the Stanwood High School Band for 26 years. This grant is open to junior and senior high school students who have an accumulated GPA of 3.0 or above (or a teacher’s recommendation) and can be used for music lessons or for the purchase of an instrument.
The application deadline is 4:00 p.m., Friday November 17, 2017.
See the grant application for additional details.
