Capital Grants

Capital Grant Funding Request

The mission of the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation is to strengthen our community by empowering nonprofits, fostering community involvement, and providing educational opportunities through collaboration and giving. SCAF believes that strategic investments in capital projects are a benefit to the community as a whole, and align with our mission in multiple ways.

Capital Grants are provided through the Floyd & Delores Jones Endowed Fund, the purpose of which is to help create a healthy and sustainable Stanwood-Camano community.

The SCAF Board of Trustees will consider requests of $5,000-$100,000.

Applying for a capital grant is a two-step process:

  1. Submit a Letter of Interest to the SCAF Board of Trustees (guidelines below)

  2. By invitation only: Attend a Board Meeting to answer questions and/or provide additional information.

Your Letter of Interest should be no more than three pages, and should include:

  1. Description and timeline of the project.

  2. Purpose of the project, including benefit to the community.

  3. Project budget, including all costs and any funds pledged, pending, or secured.

  4. Strategic statement for how the project will be supported moving forward (maintenance, utilities, etc.)

  5. Expected results of the capital investment (e.g., increased capacity, improved service quality, costs savings.)
